Increased reliability and productivity of wind energy

In order to maximize the energy output of wind power generation equipment and reduce the total operating cost, the reliability and efficiency of the generator must be improved. To this end, SKF has developed a set of guiding principles to assist the engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance processes of the entire industry, wind turbines, and their subsystems and components.

The standard-bearer for the industry's new standards

In developing these wind energy standards, SKF bearing performance specifications have been applied to other high quality sensitive industries, including the automotive and aerospace industries. In many cases, developing and embedding these standards first requires consistent SKF component quality.

SKF wind energy industry quality standards are based on the automotive industry standards and meet the needs of the wind power industry, designed to control the quality of components throughout the value chain. This new SKF standard defines manufacturing and engineering design process control standards to ensure common standards and traceability for bearings and other critical components
